The fog lays heavily this morning as winter’s icy grip steadily loses sway against the warming air. Each passing day sees the snow retreating just that little bit more.
As the ice begins to crack, yielding to the rush of its liquid form, birds alight in fresh abundance. Their song seeking mates; it’s time to build life anew once more.
Soon a symphony of colour with choruses of richly hued petals will array the horizon as sun-kissed warmth rushes to greet bare arms and legs, a reunion greatly overdue.
We have waited long for this. At last, spring is here.
